How much would you pay to keep the sun out of your eyes?

Two hats worn by the world’s newest trend setter – Kate Mountbatten-Windsor neé Middleton – will be put up for auction and estimates say they will fetch around £1700 (a little over $2600). But can you guess how much did Kate spend on them? As it turns out she rented them for £100 a day. This was, of course, before her marriage to the Duke of Cambridge.

The store owner says Kate was an absolute pleasure to deal with and knew exactly what she wanted as soon as she walked in the door. Could we expect anything else from the girl who stole a prince’s heart?

The hats will be sold with the receipts and copies of diary entries detailing Kate’s appointments at the shop.
